NCP (LC) and RSCC on Mayday 2014

Let this year’s May first be the largest in history! May 1st has been the rallying point for workers, revolutionaries and communists of every shade. Now more than ever it is pivotal to make the demarcation with the liberalism of the people’s movement. We declare that the first step for advancing the struggle of the exploited in the US is to split the movement along revolutionary lines. The questions of today must be answered by revolutionaries, first and foremost. This means centering on organizations whose orientation is to strategically defeat the enemy by ideological, economic and ultimately political means. Organizations which do not merely aim to gain more quantitatively for the exploited, but also qualitatively change the order of society from a capitalist society to a socialist society.

The continuing inter-imperialist conflicts worldwide leading to more proxy wars in Yemen, along with the continuing conflicts in Syria and Ukraine for the battle of hegemony between US or Russian interests convey to us that merely opposing the current imperialism is not enough to alter the position of the exploited. The bleeding of the environment and the genuine and artificial scarcity of resources continues ever more with many unable to get basic necessities. The continuing genocides of oppressed nationalities continues with New Afrikans (African Americans) being extra-judicially killed every 28 hours with no recourse from the law on the perpetrators. Concentration camps for working class oppressed nationalities is alive and well for the Black and Latinos being funneled due to a drug war which is a cover for a counter insurgency of their communities, not to mention the growing population of immigrants in detention centers who receive less support than those in prisons. The fight for 15 shows that even labor-aristocratic led trade-unions are even coming into contradiction with the ruling class, and that rank and file workers are realizing their economic interests at the minimum.

The tasks of communists is to lead these struggles, bring the revolutionary line and analysis, push the limits and connect with every section of society which can benefit from overthrowing the capitalist class. But to advance we must divide. We must divide ourselves from the outdated methods of struggle and analysis from the revisionist left. We must divide from the neo-liberal outlets of social welfare activism which is promoted by the state in a counter insurgency to pacify the people from realizing their strategic interests. We must be able to come to unity in regards to making revolution in the 21 century United States. But this unity must be brought about through struggle. Unit-Struggle-Unity is the Maoist method. This May Day we invite all revolutionaries to unite for this struggle.

NO MATTER WHAT THE STATE SAYS: OFFICER DARREN WILSON IS GUILTY!

Yesterday’s news that a St. Louis County grand jury will not indict Ferguson, Mo., white police officer Darren Wilson for the murder of unarmed 18-year-old African American Michael Brown comes as no surprise. In spite of several witnesses, including Brown’s friend Dorian Johnson who was with him at the time of the murder, who saw Brown with his hands up in the air surrendering, in spite of video and audio recording directly after the shooting that conflict with police officer’s reports, in spite of an independent autopsy issued by the Brown family that contradicts original claims that Brown was shot as a result of struggling with officer Wilson, in spite of all of the mounting evidence that contradicts the Ferguson Police Department’s statements and accounts, St. Louis County has decided not to indict officer Wilson.

In spite of the vicious character-assassination attempts by the Ferguson Police Department and St. Louis County’s spreading a surveillance video of a man shop-lifting in which they claim was Brown, the masses of Ferguson and their allies were not so easily fooled by these white supremacists tactics. What happened to so many other young men of African descent in this country, including Oscar Grant, Trayvon Martin and scores of others, was yet again formulaically attempted on Michael Brown.

Instead, St. Louis County, Missouri and the repressive state apparatus of the U.S. have further proven to more and more of the oppressed and exploited masses in the U.S. that we are being brutalized, hunted, stalked, systemically discriminated against and systemically murdered.

The fact that officer Wilson, like countless others before him and surely hundreds of others after, is able to walk away with no indictment after a cold-blooded killing, resonates in the communities of the oppressed nations in the United States. While struggling with poverty, inadequate employment and schooling; discriminated in virtually all facets of American society, our struggle is further exacerbated by a police force that serves the bourgeoisie and enforces a racial and national oppression that is as clear as day to the naked eye. It is especially clear when we begin to see Missouri Governor Jay Nixon declare a statewide emergency ahead of the grand jury decision with the Missouri National Guard, Missouri Highway Patrol, St. Louis County Police Department and St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department converging on Ferguson under a Unified Command under the cynical guise of “protecting civil rights”.

But the masses grow weary of oppression.

What surely will happen, as what has been happening, is a continued unrest and uprising in Ferguson and all over the U.S. The oppressed are right to rebel. But what is needed now more than ever is the revolutionary understanding of some conclusions:

1) The U.S. is a settler-colonialist capitalist empire with internal colonies/oppressed nations, of which include the Black Nation; this antagonism is violent and deadly and The working class of these oppressed nations along with the working class from the Euro-American must unite to form a United Front to combat not only national oppression and Euro-American chauvinism but capitalism itself, this process includes the creation of the Marxist-Leninist-Maoist Party of the multi-national working class.

2) The masses cannot rely on the police (or any other state representation) for genuine protection and service; it is not in the interest of the capitalist-serving police to protect and serve our communities.

3) Oppressed nationalities, but principally people of African descent, have always been targeted and brutalized; Michael Brown is not a unique phenomenon in the settler-colonialist-capitalist-imperialist history of the U.S.

4) The masses need their own proletarian protection, our own bases, our own forces, our own counter-hegemonic movement: our own dual power. The masses need a People’s Army, and this Army can only be lead by the Communist Party, and as such we must construct the Marxist-Leninist-Maoist Communist Party. Struggles in different localities should form self-defense groups to form an attempt at resistance such as the formation of cop watches to act as a counterweight against police brutality, with the recognition that these forms are also limited as well in terms of their impact and scope but that are necessary in providing some form of material relief to the masses who suffer from brutal forms of violence and extra-judicial killings.

We stand in solidarity with the masses in Ferguson, Mo., and all over the U.S. that organize against police terror. We stand in full support of the rebelling oppressed masses who cry out for fundamental change. We stand in unequivocal support for all those who see these injustices as further proof, as further evidence, as an indictment against the white supremacist capitalist-imperialist nature of the U.S.

Long live the rebelling masses of Ferguson!

Long live the oppressed people of the U.S!

Down with Capitalism and Imperialism!

Arms Up, Shoot Back!

Yes, US Patriotism is Reactionary

Recently there were polemics exchanged between Joe Sims of the CPUSA national staff and the Southern California branch of the Young Communist League, on the matter of patriotism and the national question in the US. Comrades in the YCL had released a post on July 4th(No Room For Patriotism in Capitalism-Imperialism-Colonialism) in which they denounced US patriotism as the reactionary patriotism of white supremacist, settler-colonial imperialism. Joe Sims responded to the YCL (Some Thoughts on Patriotism, The National Question and the Leninist Tradition) in which he proved his failure to understand the national question in the US. The YCL comrades responded (Response To Joe Sims’ Open Letter), maintaining a consistency in their correct analysis of the social relationships that define US society in opposition to the objectively white chauvinist line of Joe Sims/the CPUSA.

We unite with the analysis presented by our comrades in the YCL. There is no “American nation” with mere racial inequalities, as Joe Sims would like to fantasize. The US is a prison house of nations, created by European settlers whNational-Occupy-Day-in-Support-of-Prisoners-022012-by-Kevin-Rashid-Johnson-web1o colonized the continent and subjected other peoples to oppression and domination of genocidal proportions in the capitalist class structure. The American Revolution was not merely a bourgeois democratic revolution, but the bourgeois democratic revolution of a settler colonial nation that subjected kidnapped Africans to slavery and nearly exterminated the indigenous people to steal their land. The Euro-American bourgeoisie would come to look outside the borders of the US as it became an imperialist bourgeoisie on the basis of finance capital, eventually taking as its colonial possessions Hawaii, Guam, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, and exploiting many other nations through semicolonial or neocolonial means.

US imperialism holds nations captive within its borders as internal colonies (The Afro-American nation, the Chicano nation and the First Nations), as well as there are oppressed communities of national minorities who are here because of imperialism. The recent rebellion in Ferguson testifies to this fact, as the repressive apparatuses of the white supremacist state turned the city into a war zone; Black communities are occupied by the armed agents of the white supremacist, bourgeois state. Just because a Black man occupies the highest position of the imperial polity does not change these historical facts, for in fact Obama is the black representative of white finance capital.

Oppressed nationalities have nothing to celebrate on the 4th of July. Revolution in the US must be a war led by oppressed people to undo the America that Joe Sims is so fond of. The dictatorship of the white supremacist bourgeoisie can only be broken by the offensive of a proletarian movement placing the liberation of oppressed nationalities at the forefront of revolution. More power to all revolutionary youth challenging revisionist and white chauvinist politics!
